SKULL VEST: CALL FOR PATTERN TESTERS

the call for pattern testers is now closed

Everybody who submitted a contact form before 11/1 will get a response to let you know whether you'll be part of the test run. I'm disabled and work full-time, so I hope you can understand it might take me some time to compile responses. Thank you, everyone, for your interest!

When you lay this vest flat, it looks like a skull! This pattern is currently being prepared for size medium and up testers (in women's sizing), who will receive this pattern for free in exchange for feedback. All genders are welcome. Participating in this testing call will give you access to updated versions, such as instruction updates and size corrections. The vest pictured is a slightly different shape than the current digital pattern version.

TO BE CONSIDERED: Reach out to me via the contact form on my website (www.thesweaterlibrary.com/contact) and include your size and measurements (whatever you are most comfortable with). 

SIZING: At the moment, I've only tested this pattern on myself. I'm a little over 5 feet tall and usually a size small. This pattern will be ready for testers in inclusive sizes, likely in late November 2025. If you have trouble finding patterns in your size, please reach out! I want to make sure this pattern works for you.

SKILL LEVEL: No-sew beginner to advanced

You can choose which skill level you want to pursue. The skill level depends on what material you want to use and how you want to finish your edges.

NO-SEW VERSION: Use a vinyl or PVC and don't finish the edges. If you don't mind fraying, you can use any woven fabric.

BEGINNER VERSION: After cutting the pattern, finish the edges with a zig-zag or overlock stitch. Woven fabric is ok, knits sometimes need to be serged.

ADVANCED VERSION: Use bias tape around the edges, requiring mitering at angles that are not your typical 90 degrees.

I've included instructions for how to create and sew the bias tape, but they may be a bit difficult to understand. If you are a tech editor, please reach out because I'm willing to pay for help with this!
